The escalating Israeli–Palestinian conflict has sparked action in our own country. Free Palestine rallies are popping up across Ontario including right here in Halton. On May 14, hundreds walked along Main St. in Milton to protest. Milton resident Arwa Amir initiated the @milton_freepali (instagram) movement with support from Batool Abukheil. Deya Altaweel and Palestine House organized and sponsored the event.

The Milton Chamber of Commerce is getting ready to open the Milton Farmers' Market season. The season runs from May 22 to Oct. 9 at the Fairgrounds. The Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF) is speaking out against the government's plan to offer virtual learning as a permanent choice for students in the 2021/2022 school year. We spoke with OSSTF District 20 president Cindy Gage.
