The federal government has given a little over $40,000 to the Salvation Army. MP Adam van Koeverden shares the details.

Community Living North Halton and Country Heritage Agricultural Society combined investment of $36,000. The funding came from The Local Food Infrastructure Fund which is a five-year, $50-million program under the Food Policy for Canada. The mission of the program is to reduce food insecurity by establishing and/or strengthening local food systems in the medium to longer term. Adam van Koeverden spoke with Melissa Candelaria on May 21 to remind residents about the many programs and extra help the federal government has on offer. This includes help for small business, our local farmers/agriculture, summer jobs, helping our senior population, etc. He also encourages residents to reach out to him if there isn't a government program for their specific needs.

Adam van Koeverden gets a little personal with his experience in dealing with essential workers and express his support in the federal government's decision to increase their wages amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The announcement was made on Thursday, May 7.
