ETFO not happy with government's decision to not re-open schools
The Ontario government has announced schools will remain in an at-home learning model for the rest of the year with the expectation to open for in-school learning for September. Local Muslim group reacts to fatal hit-and-run in London, Ont.
The Muslim Advisory Council of Canada is calling on all levels of government to combat Islamophobia. This comes after a hit-and-run on a family of five in London, Ontario. Four of the family members were killed, leaving a nine-year-old boy recovering in hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Melissa Candelaria spoke with the executive director Tabassum Wyne on June 8. A fundraising campaign is currently underway to raise money to support the sole survivor. For details click here.

Ally parents demanding HCDSB schools fly the Pride flag
HCDSB Ally Parents United won't take no for an answer when it comes to flying the rainbow Pride flag. The group was created following the decision by the Halton District School Board to not fly the flag at a special meeting in April. Melissa Candelaria spoke with a representative on May 7.

OSSTF says students learn best in class

Sustainable Milton on growth for the next 30 years
Halton Region is hosting Public Information Centres (PICs) to hear from residents on what they would like to see has their communities grow in the next three decades. This is part of the Regional Official Plan Review.
